DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT.
Everything goes: your first name, your monster, your moods, your mood history, your signs and invitations, your ÉCHO words and picks, your guesses, your “This Big” plays, your wall items, your moods in the comic and in the month of your crew, the shop items on your account, your device tokens, your recovery code, your place in your groups, and the parent approval if there was one. What was left from older versions of the app is deleted as well (notes, words of the week, memories, for the other person too). It takes a few seconds and it can’t be undone.
Only want to erase your mood history? From version 0.9.20, tap erase my tints in “my tints” or in me › privacy & safety: your past tints are deleted right away, along with your moods in the Sunday comic and in the month of your crew, and your account stays (details).
From the app
- Open Tintee and go to me: the “me” tab of the bar at the bottom (on versions before 0.9.20, tap your tint, top right).
- Open help & account and scroll to delete my account, the last line.
- Confirm. The app restarts on the welcome screen.
Without the app
Lost your phone, or can’t open the app? Write to hello@tintee.app from any address, tell us the first name you used and, if you know it, the name of your group. We delete within 30 days and confirm by reply. We never ask for anything else to identify you.
Uninstalling is not deleting
Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account: your first name and last mood would stay in your group. If you reinstall, the app finds your account again on most phones (iPhone keychain, Google backup on Android). If it doesn’t, tap I have a recovery code on the first screen and type the code from “me” on your old phone. An account with no sign of life (never opened, no mood, no device still registered) is deleted automatically, usually after 90 days and at most after 180.
What stays, and for how long
- Reports about you: if someone reported something you wrote or stuck on the wall, the report keeps your account identifier and a copy of what was reported for up to 90 days, for moderation.
- Your own reports: a report you made keeps your account identifier as the reporter for up to 90 days.
- ÉCHO words: if other players could already see one of your words, a hidden copy is kept for 72 hours at most, only to handle a report, then deleted automatically.
- Other members’ phones: if someone kept a Sunday comic in their album, it still holds your account identifier and the moods and words shown in your panels (never your name) until they empty their album. The signs and invitations you exchanged stay in their own exchange history, on their phone, for 13 months at most.
- Your group’s wall: a wall background you picked stays on the group’s wall. It does not say who picked it.
- Usage measurement: events already sent to PostHog stay until the end of their retention (one year today), tied to an identifier that no longer points to anyone.
- Crash reports: they are not tied to your account and disappear after 90 days.
- Server logs: Google’s request logs, with your IP address, are deleted after 30 days.
- Backups: our database backups are a frozen copy kept 14 days at most; then nothing of your account is left in them.
- Parents: if you approved a child’s account as a parent, that approval is kept as proof of consent and the child keeps their account.
