Tintee is a small private app to share your mood with a few people who matter: your partner, your family or your close friends. You pick one of ten moods and, if you like, the right word and how strong it is; your little monster, your tint, wakes up in that color for your group, in the app and on the home-screen widget. There is no feed, no chat and no photos: moods, little signs like ✌️ “thinking of you”, and a few daily games.
Yes. Tintee is free and has no ads. During the beta there is nothing to pay. tint+, a future option for a whole group, is only a waiting list for now.
Adults (18+), for now, on Android and on iPhone. Android: join the testers group with the Google account you use on the Play Store, open the Play testing link on your phone and tap “Become a tester”, then install Tintee from the Play Store. iPhone: install TestFlight, Apple’s free app for betas, open our public TestFlight link on the iPhone, then tap “Accept” and “Install”. The links and steps are on the home page. On Android, the address of your Google account stays in the testers group and the Play tester list, never in the app; on iPhone, Apple handles the sign-up and we get no address. The app itself is built for ages 13 and up, with a parent’s approval below the age of digital consent (15 in France): the parents page explains how.
Yes. Tintee runs on Android phones and on iPhone, and one group can mix both. During the beta, Android installs come through a Google Play closed test, and iPhone installs through Apple’s TestFlight.
Up to 8 people per group, and up to four groups per account — your family and your friends, for example, each with its own mood. A group can only be joined with an invite link from someone already in it: no search, no strangers. Tintee is at its best with 2 to 4 people.
Tintee keeps what it needs to work: a random account identifier (no email, no phone number, no password), the first name or nickname you type, your groups, the look of your tint, your current mood with the details you add, a private diary of your own moods that only you can read, short-lived game data and a device token for notifications — in Google’s European data centers (Belgium). The app never asks for your email, phone number, real name or date of birth (the first name or nickname you choose is enough), never collects your location, photos or contacts, and shows no ads. The app can also count how it is used and send crash reports — never anything you write, never anything about your mood — and you can switch both off in “me”. Every item, and how long it is kept, is in the privacy policy.
Add the Tintee widget to your home screen: it shows your group’s moods without opening the app — how many people fit depends on the size of the widget. When someone in your group changes mood, a silent notification asks your widget to refresh. On iPhone, a widget also fits on the lock screen; on Android, a floating bubble can show your group too.
ÉCHO is the game of the day: everyone sees the same three drawings and writes one word for all three. Same word as someone in your group? That’s an echo. You see the others’ words once you have played: right away if everyone active in your group has played, otherwise once it is 8 PM both for you and for the person who wrote the word. In a group of three or more, the group then votes for the most unexpected word, and its author wears the crown; in a group of two, there is no vote, and an echo crowns you both. You can also play the day’s ÉCHO in a browser, without an account, on tintee.app/echo (ages 13 and up).
In the app: tap your tint to open “me”, then “help & account”, then “delete my account”, the last line. Without the app, write to hello@tintee.app. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Details on the delete your account page.
